A History of Serving
It was in the 1950s that a group of churches in the Chicago suburbs saw the needs of their aging church members and wanted to do something to help. At that time, the typical nursing home was a warehouse of medical efficiency, not a place for life and fulfillment.
But the ministry now known as Providence Life Services changed all that. By 1960 we had completed the first Christian nursing home in the area. It was filled to capacity from the very beginning. Throughout the decades we have added additional services — retirement living, assisted living, rehab, memory support, private duty, home health — always in response to people’s expressed needs and our own Christian commitment.
Today we serve hundreds of people from 10 locations in Illinois, Indiana, and Michigan. At each location, staff at every level understand that our mission is to enhance the lives of those we serve in the name of Jesus Christ.
A Legacy of Leading
Leading us in this mission is a group of skilled, strategic men and women who are nominated by churches throughout the community, and whose personal faith informs their decision-making.
